Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of the AutoMates website, Windows desktop application, subscription, licensing services, and related services (collectively, “AutoMates”). By purchasing, activating, downloading, installing, or using AutoMates, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility and permitted use

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering a contract to use AutoMates. AutoMates is intended for personal use with websites and services that permit the type of automation you choose to use. You are responsible for complying with applicable law and the terms, policies, and rules of any third-party service you access through or alongside AutoMates.

2. What AutoMates does

AutoMates is a local-first Windows application that can learn from your profile-review decisions, apply preferences and hard filters, and automate repetitive profile-review actions when Automatic mode is enabled. AutoMates does not guarantee matches, dates, responses, or any particular outcome.

3. Subscription and recurring billing

• The current subscription price is $19 per month, plus applicable taxes, unless a different price is clearly shown at checkout.
• Your subscription renews automatically each month until canceled.
• By completing checkout, you authorize recurring monthly charges using the payment method handled by our payment processor.
• Before any future price change takes effect, any legally required notice will be provided.

4. Cancellation and access

You may cancel using the online cancellation method made available through AutoMates or its billing flow. Cancellation is intended to stop future recurring charges. The timing of the end of paid access may depend on the cancellation option presented to you and the status returned by the payment processor. AutoMates may periodically verify subscription status and may disable paid functionality when a subscription is no longer eligible.

Pre-launch note: final cancellation timing and refund language will be confirmed before live paid launch.

5. License and devices

A subscription provides a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use AutoMates for personal use. The current plan supports one active device at a time. You may be required to deactivate one installation before activating another. You may not resell, sublicense, rent, distribute, or provide your license key or activation credentials to others.

6. Your responsibilities

• Use AutoMates only in environments where your use of automation is permitted.
• Review and maintain your own preferences, dealbreakers, and automation settings.
• Keep license credentials reasonably secure.
• Do not use AutoMates to violate law, harass others, bypass access controls, or interfere with third-party systems.

7. Third-party websites and services

AutoMates may interact with websites and services that we do not own or control. Those services may change their interfaces, terms, access rules, or technical behavior at any time. AutoMates LLC is not responsible for third-party services, their availability, their content, or actions they take concerning your account.

8. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how AutoMates handles information. The desktop product is designed so profile-review data, photos used for local training, preferences, and model data can remain on your computer, while subscription, licensing, and payment-related information necessarily involves external service providers.

9. Updates and changes

We may update AutoMates to improve functionality, security, compatibility, or licensing. Features may change over time. We may also update these Terms. If a change materially affects your rights, we will provide notice when required by law.

10. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access if your subscription is not valid, if you materially violate these Terms, if continued operation creates security or legal risk, or when required by law. You may stop using AutoMates at any time and may cancel your subscription using the available cancellation method.

11. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AutoMates is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not warrant that the software will be uninterrupted, error-free, compatible with every website, or produce any dating outcome. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot legally be waived.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AutoMates LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for losses arising from third-party website actions, account restrictions, lost opportunities, or decisions made using automated recommendations. Any final liability cap will be reviewed by counsel before paid launch.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable consumer law requires otherwise.
