Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 3, 2026
Draft for pre-launch review. This policy reflects the current product architecture and should be reviewed by qualified privacy counsel before paid public launch.

This Privacy Policy explains how AutoMates LLC (formation pending) handles information through the AutoMates website, Windows desktop application, subscription, licensing, and related services.

1. Local-first desktop data

AutoMates is designed so the personal data needed to train and operate your preference model is processed locally on your Windows computer. Based on the current application architecture, profile-review history, local profile metadata, locally captured training photos, preferences, trained model files, and related reports are stored in local application data rather than uploaded to the AutoMates licensing backend.

This does not mean that all AutoMates-related information stays on your computer. Subscription, payment, licensing, and device-activation information necessarily involves external services as described below.

2. Information involved in subscription and licensing

CategoryExamplesPurpose
Contact and billing identityEmail address; payment-customer and subscription identifiersCreate and maintain your subscription and associate it with a license.
Subscription statusActive/canceled status, price identifier, billing-period information, cancellation statusDetermine whether the desktop app is entitled to paid functionality.
License informationLicense record, hashed license key, license statusIssue, validate, suspend, and manage licenses.
Device activation informationRandom installation identifier, activation token or token hash, activation/deactivation and last-seen timestampsEnforce the supported device limit and verify entitlement.

3. Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. AutoMates does not need to receive or store your full payment-card number. Stripe may process payment details, billing information, transaction information, fraud-prevention data, and other information under Stripe’s own privacy terms.

4. Licensing and backend service provider

AutoMates currently uses Supabase-hosted backend services for subscription synchronization, license issuance, device activation, and entitlement checks. Information sent to those services is limited to what is needed for those functions, such as your subscription/license records and installation identifier.

5. Website data

The current preview website is intentionally minimal. The visible early-access form is a demonstration form and does not transmit information unless and until a backend is intentionally connected. If analytics, advertising tools, support forms, or other tracking technologies are added before launch, this policy will be updated before those tools are enabled.

6. What we do not intentionally collect through the licensing backend

The current licensing backend is not designed to receive your dating-site password, raw dating-profile photos, profile swipe history, local training labels, or trained preference-model files. Those desktop materials are intended to remain local unless you separately choose to provide information to support or another service.

7. Retention

Local desktop data remains on your computer until you delete it or remove the applicable AutoMates data. Subscription and licensing records may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain business and transaction records, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, and satisfy legal obligations. Final retention periods will be confirmed before paid launch.

8. Security

We use measures intended to limit access to subscription and licensing data. The desktop licensing design uses hashed license keys and opaque activation tokens so the full license key does not need to be retained locally after activation. No security method is perfect, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your choices and privacy rights

Depending on where you live and the laws that apply, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or information about how certain personal data is processed. We will provide a working privacy-contact method before paid public launch. We do not currently intend to sell personal data or use personal data for targeted advertising.

10. Third-party websites

When you use AutoMates with a third-party website, that third party processes information under its own privacy policy and terms. This Privacy Policy does not govern how those third-party services handle your information.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as AutoMates changes, including when new analytics, support, payment, hosting, or product features are added. If a change is material, we will provide notice when required by law.
